Article 5.1 · Eligibility
Membership is open to any man or woman with the intent to establish and run a school, who has the interest of the child at heart from cradle — irrespective of race, nationality, religion or tribe.
Every applicant must be ready to establish, run and manage their school in accordance with the nation's education policy and other applicable laws of the land, and must have attained the age of eighteen (18) years and above.
By registering, every member accepts the supremacy of the AFED Constitution in all their dealings with the association.
Article 5.2 · Registration
Be sponsored by two bonafide AFED members who will act as your referees.
Obtain and complete the AFED Membership Eligibility Form from the State Secretariat, via your Zone or LGA/LCDA.
Return the form to the General Secretary with proof of payment of the stipulated registration fee to the chapter's bank account.
On successful registration, receive your Membership Certificate, AFED School Code and the Association's Flag.
Article 15 · Financial Obligations
Every registered member pays an annual due of ₦6,000 as subscription to the association. Where the association faces a financial need for a specific project, a reasonable levy may also be raised across the membership.
Dues are shared across tiers as: Zone 30% · LGA/LCDA 20% · State 30% · National 20%. A member who fails to pay by the end of the academic year attracts a monthly fine of ₦500, and after six months becomes a defaulter, losing access to association benefits until dues are cleared.
Article 18 · Attendance & Benefits
To qualify for full benefits, a member must attend at least two-thirds (2/3) of all stipulated meetings within the preceding twelve calendar months at their Zone, LGA/LCDA, or State level — unless inability to attend has been duly communicated and noted by the house. A member must also be financially up to date and not a defaulter at the time a benefit is sought.
Complete your registration through the member portal, or contact the Secretariat if you need help with the process.
